The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) is recording steady progress on the construction of the NASENI Campus in the Abuja Technology Village, a flagship Science, Technology and Innovation Complex designed to strengthen Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem.
For SEDI Enugu, the development represents an important step in advancing the Institute’s mandate to transform research, engineering
expertise and indigenous technologies into practical solutions that respond to Nigeria’s industrial and socio-economic needs.
The NASENI Campus is being developed to address a critical challenge facing innovation in Nigeria: moving promising ideas beyond research
and prototypes into market-ready products, businesses and industries. This aligns closely with the work of SEDI Enugu in capacity building
through its Skill Acquisition Programme, developing and improving technologies in areas such as agricultural machinery, engineering systems,
fabrication, renewable energy and other productive-sector applications.
When completed, the Campus will provide research laboratories, advanced prototyping and fabrication facilities, co-working spaces and collaborative learning environments where innovators, researchers, engineers and industry can work together to refine technologies and accelerate their deployment.
The development also reinforces NASENI’s 3Cs framework of Creation, Collaboration and Commercialisation. For SEDI Enugu, this provides an
expanded platform for strengthening partnerships, improving technology development processes and taking locally developed solutions from the
workshop and laboratory to the marketplace.
As construction progresses, NASENI continues to build the infrastructure required to connect the capabilities of its development institutes,
including SEDI Enugu, with a wider ecosystem of innovators, industry and investors.
