The Fourth Industrial Revolution also called Industry 4.0 or 4IR is the next phase in the digitization of the manufacturing sector, driven by disruptive trends including the rise of data and connectivity, analytics, human-machine interaction, and improvements in robotics.
SEDI - Enugu has keyed into this by the acquisition of training equipment, through her supervising Agency, National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), and the training of 10 staffs by the equipment manufacturer De Lorenzo Italy.

The training aid proper understanding of Industry 4.0, it breaks down the processes to 3 stations representing Raw Materials Collection and Storage, actual Production, and finally Packaging and Finished Products Storage. Technologies like MySQL, JavaScript, Vb.Net, IP addressing and Subnet and so on. Where used to achieve seamless operation of the equipment, in achieving digitized manufacturing process.
