Advance Manufacturing Technology Center is a new project in SEDI-Enugu which was commisioned on 13th January 2021 by the Executive Vice Chairman of The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) Engr Prof. M. S. Haruna. The center serves as an advancement from the traditional machining process.
The Advance Manufacturing Technology Centre is equipped with Computer Numerically Controlled Machine Tools to accomplish various machining tasks efficiently and accurately. Using the CNC Lathe, Vertical Machining Centre, and Electric Discharge Machines, among others, machine components of diverse configuration, complexities, and specifications can be produced. The Centre is also equipped with several Computers for Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM).
The Advance Manufacturing Technology Centre has well trained and skilled personnel to handle various manufacturing tasks. The academic and industrial training of personnel, coupled with years of experience, and affiliation with other engineers and engineering bodies, enable the Centre to carry out challenging tasks.
Using the array of Computer Numerically Controlled Machines Tools, handled by qualified and experienced technical personnel, the Centre can produce machine components for industry and academia. The Centre can assist inventors, hobbyists, and researchers to bring to life and develop their creative ideas.
The Advance Manufacturing Technology Centre has capacity to train technical personnel in the use of CAD and CAM in production of machine components. Engineering personnel can also acquire the skills needed in the Operation and Programming of CNC machine tools. Undergraduate Engineering student that have passed through our machine shop, where conventional machining is carried out, can also be trained to see the advancement of precision engineering and what awaits them in the future.
